about
Hey, my name is Janick. I’m a trained carpenter, and during my apprenticeship (2016–2019), I discovered my passion for design and creativity. Along with honing my craft, I developed a strong sense of shapes, colors, and materials. I’ve always been drawn to tackling challenges creatively and coming up with unique, sometimes unconventional, solutions—this has inspired me to place creativity at the heart of my work. After my apprenticeship and time as a journeyman, I decided to deepen my skills by completing further training as a "Designer in Craftsmanship" (2021–2022). There, I learned how to develop concepts independently and make design-driven decisions. Working with various materials and tools has always fueled my inspiration. In the winter semester of 2023–2024, I began studying Industrial Design at Munich University of Applied Sciences.
motivation
For me, design is about solving problems and improving the world. It’s about understanding needs and translating them into aesthetics and functionality. Good design balances form and function, innovation, and sustainability, with people at the core. I believe design is essential in creating a more sustainable future and positively impacting our environment.
